The situation around the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, seems to be improving slightly. The city’s military commander reported this in a statement the night from Thursday to Friday.

Fighting would still take place in the city’s suburbs, but otherwise, it remained relatively quiet on Thursday.

The Ukrainian army is said to be working to clear the liberated areas around the capital of explosives and mines.

Despite the progress, residents of the city should remain cautious and take shelter if the air raid siren sounds, the commander said.
