Donald Trump will most likely be allowed to leave the hospital on Monday. His doctors reported on Sunday that if the US president’s condition continues to improve, he will have to stay in the hospital for another night.

The president, infected with the coronavirus, is in Walter Reed Hospital, just outside Washington, where he was admitted on Friday.

According to personal physician Sean Conley, there are “ups and downs” in the course of illness at Trump, who is in the middle of his reelection campaign.

Twice the oxygen levels in Trump’s blood plummeted. That happened on Friday and Saturday. The president also had a high fever on Friday. The doctor team then recommended giving Trump extra oxygen.

He received a second dose of the antiviral drug remdesivir on Saturday evening and has no side effects. Since Saturday, the president has continued to be treated with the steroid dexamethasone, which must ensure that the oxygen level in the blood remains at the right level.

On Sunday, Trump showed himself in public for a short while. He drove a car for a quick lap past fans gathered in the street and waved at them from behind the window.
