Japan has lifted its recommendations to wear a face mask. There has never been a mouth mask obligation in the country, but there were recommendations.

But they are also disappearing, according to the German press agency DPA. Masks are only recommended in medical institutions, nursing homes and busy public transport.

The mouth mask was already well established in the country before the corona pandemic, for example, if you have a cold, to prevent you from infecting others.

But now mouth masks are no longer necessary at airports, public transport, supermarkets and schools will no longer make wearing a mask mandatory from April 1, the start of the new school year.
