In the ‘Church of the Presidents’, opposite the White House, a fire was started during riots in the American capital, Washington.

Local media reports that the most important things such as stained-glass and red windows, could be saved. Since the opening of the Church in 1816, all Presidents have attended church services at least once.

Across the United States, there is unrest on the sidelines of demonstrations against police brutality following the death of a black 46-year-old suspect in Minneapolis a week ago at the hands of a white police officer.

Plunder and fire are widespread.

Public buildings are haunted by large groups of people who use fireworks and Molotov cocktails in places to wreak havoc. A building belonging to an umbrella union organization has also been set on fire near the White House.

Sunday evening and the following night, more than 50 security agents were injured around the White House, according to local media.

White House personnel are instructed to come to the complex where the President lives and works on weekends only when it is necessary. Looting and vandalism have also been reported in the Georgetown entertainment district on the west side of downtown.

Washington Mayor Muriel Browser, just like in dozens of other cities, has announced a nightly nightclub. They are not observed in many American cities.
