In total, nearly 260,000 people have succumbed to Covid-19 in Brazil. This puts the country in second place worldwide. In the US, it is about twice as many.
The number of infections rose by almost 72,000, bringing the total in the country of 212 million inhabitants to more than 10.7 million.
