In the fight for the US presidency, Democratic candidate Joe Biden went to Florida to convince older voters there, and President Donald Trump campaigned in Pennsylvania. The two states could make a significant difference in the November 3 election.

Biden told an audience of retirees in the Sunshine State on Tuesday that Trump sees them as “amenable” and “forgettable.” According to Biden, Trump has recklessly endangered the elderly by downplaying the severity of the coronavirus earlier this year.

Biden’s visit to Florida comes a day after the president made his first campaign trip outside of Washington since becoming infected with the coronavirus. If Biden gets the most votes in Florida, a state with 29 electors, that will make Trump’s chances of re-election much smaller.

Trump held a campaign rally at an airport in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday. The result in Pennsylvania (20 electoral votes) could determine the outcome of the upcoming election, according to some observers.

On Monday evening, Trump scattered mouth masks, without actually wearing one himself. “I’ve been through it now,” he told his audience. “They say I’m immune. I feel so strong. I will kiss everyone in that audience, I will loop the men and the beautiful women; I will give you a big kiss,” said the president.

Biden told his Florida audience on Tuesday that he was disappointed that Trump’s corona contamination did not appear to have changed the president’s approach to the epidemic. “The longer Donald Trump has been president, the more reckless he seems to become,” said Biden. “Thank God we only have three weeks to go.”
