The US police have started an investigation into Ghislaine Maxwell, the former partner of the deceased billionaire Jeffrey Epstein.
Research by the FBI also focuses on other people who may have helped Epstein in establishing sexual contacts with minors, two initiates report. They do not want to disclose who they are.
According to the sources, the FBI is not yet planning to interview Prince Andrew of the United Kingdom. The prince was a friend of Epstein and would have had relationships with a minor girl through him and Maxwell.
Maxwell is the daughter of the British media magnate Robert Maxwell who fell from his yacht in 1991 and drowned in the sea. For years, she was Epstein’s girlfriend and his confidant who kept contacts with prominent figures warm.
She disappeared without a trace shortly after Epstein’s suicide. In August the report appeared that she would live in a remote villa in Massachusetts.
