The European Commission wants to ban the import of crude oil from Russia within six months and that of petrol and other oil products by the end of the year.
She also proposes to cut off three major banks from the international payment service SWIFT and to tackle European accountants and consultants who help Russia.
The committee also wants to ban three major Russian TV channels.
The measures are part of the sixth package of sanctions against Russia, which, of the five previous ones, is still not paying much attention and is continuing the war against Ukraine.
