According to state media, the death toll after a building collapse in the central Chinese city of Changsha last Friday has risen to 53.
A recent earlier balance reported 26 dead. The search and rescue work has been completed, state broadcaster CCTV reports. Ten people could be saved.
It is still unclear how the building, which housed a hotel, several apartments and a cinema, could just collapse. Chinese President Xi Jinping announced a thorough investigation a day after the disaster.
Eleven people, including the building owner and a team of security inspectors, have since been arrested on suspicion of involvement in the incident. They allegedly falsified a security statement for the building.
