Book of Enchantment project no Longer takes Place at Disney. There will be no series about the Disney bad guys for now.
The makers have pulled the plug after more than a year of preparations.
Although no official green light had yet been given, the series, based on the Disney Villains book series by Serena Valentino,
was to be one of the showpieces of Disney’s new streaming service, Disney +.
In the Book of Enchantment series, the background of bad guys like Snow White, Ursula from The Little Mermaid and Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty would be highlighted.
The reason for the blow-off is, according to reports, a purely creative one.
Writers had been busy with the scripts for weeks but could not find the right tone and direction.
The project would have cost at least 4 million dollars.
