Europeans will have to wait less long for their Teslas ordered from the end of this year.

The automaker will export cars from its mega factory in Shanghai too, among other places, Europe, where this market is still entirely dependent on deliveries from the United States.

The China-built Tesla Model 3s will be mass-produced and delivered to markets outside of China from the fourth quarter. The target markets besides Europe include Singapore, Australia and New Zealand.

Tesla currently builds approximately 11,000 cars per month in China, all for the Chinese market.

Producing cars locally helps to keep costs down. Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s goal is to make the vehicles more affordable and thus boost sales.

Tesla is also currently building a mega factory in Berlin, the first in Europe. Musk wants to start production from that place mid-2021.
