China disagrees with the restrictions that the United States has imposed on Chinese airlines.
US Deputy Secretary of Transportation Joel Szabat required seven Chinese airlines to report all of their flights to the US by May 27 because he wants to see if they might “violate existing laws or harm the public interest.”
The US demanded this from China because Beijing will drastically restrict international air traffic in passenger transport until at least mid-October. But the US government wants the country to be much more flexible.
A spokesman for the Chinese foreign ministry said flight restrictions imposed by Beijing apply to all airlines.
According to him, the restrictions on passenger transport are to curb the risk of the spread of the coronavirus.
Washington accused the Chinese government on Friday of making it impossible for US airlines to resume their services to China.
