Twitter will erase inactive users from 11 December. Consequently, a number of older usernames will probably be released in the long term.

 

These are generally profiles which have not been logged in for longer than six months. Twitter emails customers in advance with the caution that their account is in danger of disappearing. Those who wish to keep these should log in and accept the most recent terms of use. It is actually therefore not necessary to also tweet yourself to keep your account energetic.

Twitter points out it will gradually remove inactive accounts. Consequently, their tweets also disappear, and they no more count as fans along with other accounts.

For accounts of deceased individuals, the company is considering a type of Memoriam wherein the tweets of the person could be preserved, but exactly how exactly that works is not yet clear.

As accounts are cleaned up, the user brands of these balances can also be released. When that takes place effectively will not be identified. The Verge notes that every combinations with five characters have already been utilized today, some of them could be released in the long term.
