In the United States, 1,561 coronavirus deaths have been recorded in the past 24 hours. This is evident from counts from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.
That’s slightly more deaths than a day earlier when 1,536 deaths were reported.
The daily death toll has risen again in the US after two days of relative decline earlier this week. On Sunday and Monday, 820 and 759 deaths were reported, respectively.
In total, 93,406 people in the country have now died of the lung virus, the highest number worldwide.
According to Johns Hopkins figures, more than 1.5 million infections are known in the US.
