Denmark is lifting almost all corona measures, although the number of infections is still rising. The masks can be removed in public transport, shops can receive unlimited customers, and nightclubs can also open.
However, rules still apply to international travellers.
Covid is no longer a danger to society, the government in Copenhagen believes. “We are saying goodbye to restrictions and welcome life as we knew it before corona,” Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said last week. She sees corona vaccines as “super weapons” against the pandemic.
Denmark is the first EU country to take such a far-reaching step. However, many other countries in Europe are letting the reins loose. For example, Ireland and England have lifted or relaxed corona measures.
