The New York police intervened in a protest against police brutality and racism in the Brooklyn neighbourhood.

That reports television channel CNN and can be seen on images on social media. The peaceful march was stopped by officers.

The city police commissioner told CNN that people had been arrested for demonstrating despite the curfew. “It is still less than in recent days, but the evening is still young.”

Wednesday afternoon (local time), Commissioner Dermot Shea spoke about George Floyd’s death in Minneapolis.

“I think it makes everyone angry with a conscience. We support and sympathize with the Floyd family. It wasn’t the first time this has happened, but let’s hope it was the last time.”

Protestants are also in full swing in other cities. Photographs show demonstrations and protest marches in Washington DC, Seattle, St.

Charles, Philadelphia and San Francisco, among others. In San Francisco, demonstrators were once again on horseback.

In Washington DC, many police officers and members of the National Guard are on the move. The demonstration is progressing peacefully, but many activists are not ready to leave, even though curfew is about to start.
