Former President Donald Trump plans to create a social network. The platform will be called TRUTH Social and launched in early November, initially for invitees only.

The network is owned by Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), and the intention is that there will also be a streaming service that will show ‘non-woke’ programs. Woke is a movement of people who are very aware of racism and social injustice against minorities

“I created TRUTH SOCIAL and TMTG to stand up to big tech. We live in a world where the Taliban have a huge presence on Twitter, but your favourite US president is silenced,” Trump wrote in a statement. He calls it ‘unacceptable’ and wants the network to form a ‘rival’ for the liberal media.

Former President Trump’s accounts were blocked by Twitter and Facebook following the storming of the Capitol on January 6. Who finances the social network and what exactly it will look like is still unclear at the moment.
