British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has become a father again. His girlfriend Carrie Symonds gave birth to a boy on Wednesday morning.

Mother and child are doing well, according to the couple’s spokesman.

The birth of the baby was actually planned for early summer. Johnson and Symonds also got engaged earlier this year.

Johnson, 55, already has five children from different relationships. Johnson is divorcing his second wife, Marina Wheeler.

The last time a child was born on 10 Downing Street dates from August 2010. Then Prime Minister David Cameron and his wife Samantha Cameron welcomed their daughter Florence Rose Endellion to the world.

The couple has had a stressful period. The British Prime Minister became infected with the coronavirus and was hospitalized for a week, including three nights of intensive care. About his hospital stay, he said that the “NHS has definitely saved my life.”

“I would like to personally thank my brilliant doctors, who made crucial decisions a few days ago, for which I will be grateful for the rest of my life,” he said in a video message. His 32-year-old fiancé also had symptoms of the virus.
